Junior Horticulturist

At Oakridge Landscape Contractors, we’ve been building and maintaining landscapes across Southern Ontario for over 30 years. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Junior Horticulturist who’s eager to grow their skills, build plant knowledge, and develop under experienced leadership.
What the role looks like:
This is a hands-on, learning-focused role where you’ll support plant health and installation while developing your horticultural expertise in the field.
- Learn the Craft: Assist with planting, pruning, and general plant care across job sites.
- Plant Watch: Help monitor plant health and identify early signs of pests, disease, or stress.
- Quality First: Support proper plant handling, installation, and transport.
- Plan Ahead: Review and tag nursery stock for upcoming jobs.
- Precision Care: Apply fertilizers and treatments in line with industry standards.
- Team Support: Work closely with the Senior Horticultural Specialist and crews.
- Hands-On Help: Step in on installs and maintenance when needed.
What we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or similar work.
- Basic plant knowledge and a strong willingness to learn.
- Landscape Exterminator (Spray) License – asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
